About us

We hire a research technician in the laboratory of Endometriosis and Gynaecological Oncology (EndoGO, Prof Mueller's laboratory) to support the development of an organ on chip based in vitro model.
Based at Inselspital's Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, our research unit focuses on endometriosis. This condition occurs when tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus, causing chronic pain, fatigue, and infertility. By developing advanced in vitro models, we aim to uncover the mechanisms behind lesion formation and progression. Our goal is to translate these biological insights into more effective treatments and enhanced diagnostic imaging for endometriosis patients.

Responsibilties

As a key objective, you will isolate primary endometrial cells from clinical biopsies and engineer them into functional 3D 'mini-lesions'. Leveraging the Mimetas OrganoPlate® platform, you will integrate a microvascular network and perform advanced assays to validate its physiological functionality.
