Exploring Career Progression of Women in Early Academic Careers

The ARTORG Center for Biomedical Engineering was founded in 2008 and is integrated into the Faculty of Medicine which is unique in Europe. After nearly 20 years of innovation and training of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, we aim to investigate the career progression of women who have been part of the ARTORG Center. This includes female graduates and early-career researchers (PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty) from 2008 to the present. We hope to better understand the specific challenges and opportunities that women in biomedical engineering encounter during the early stages of their careers, beyond the completion of their academic training. Our goal is to identify how we can improve the educational training to promote gender equality and better equip our students and early-career researchers with the necessary skills to succeed in their professional careers.

This position is particularly suitable for Master students interested in gender equality and the interdisciplinary MedTech research and innovation environment, who are currently enrolled in Biomedical Engineering, AI in Medicine, Health Sciences or similar field. Applicants should have at least one year remaining before completing their studies.
