About us

The fixed-term position (February to Decembre 2027) is embedded in the UniBe Anchor Project "Archaeologies of Sustainable Environments (ASE)" for the development of an ENLIGHT Joint Master's degree programme. Within the framework of the "Archaeology for the Future (AFF)" project, the IAW-together with the Universities of Groningen and Uppsala-is developing the international Joint Master's degree programme "Archaeology of Sustainable Environments" (ASE). The planned degree programme combines archaeological expertise with current social and environmental challenges, leveraging the complementary strengths of the partner universities. To manage and implement the project, we are seeking an organizationally and diplomatically skilled individual with experience in project management and a strong understanding of the international higher education landscape, starting February 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Developpement of the Joint Master's degree programme together with the responsible professors
  • Coordination and conduction of the work packages
  • Ensuring smooth information flow and coordination among all participating partner institutions
  • Monitoring project progress, structuring individual work phases, and ensuring the timely delivery ofmilestones
  • Contributing to the content-related and organizational development of the degree programme(cooperation agreements, regulations, and formal frameworks) in close collaboration with projectpartners

Requirements

  • University degree (MA, PhD) in a relevant field, preferably in archaeology or related disciplines
  • Experience in managing projects, ideally in establishing degree programmes or international projects
  • Familiarity with academic structures, diplomatic tact, negotiation skills, and audience-appropriatecommunication
  • Professional fluency in German and English; knowledge of Dutch and/or Swedish is an advantage
