Responsibilities:

  • Carry out independent research, present this research at workshops and conferences, and publish it in scholarly journals
  • Teach three courses per year
  • Carry out limited administrative tasks

The successful applicant will

  • Hold a PhD in philosophy, political theory or jurisprudence
  • Have an area of specialization in philosophy of law, political philosophy, normative ethics, or applied ethics
  • Be willing to contribute to the organization of workshops and the preparation of joint grant applications

Special consideration will be given to candidates who

  • Pursue a research project in areas such as the philosophy of international law, international political philosophy, ethics of war, the ethics of self-defence, or human rights
  • Are able to teach in German
